As for the actual doodles, basically what's going on is that Gauntlet is just learning how to adjust to his new wings in order to fly, which will help him do his job of chasing down Project U clients who can't pay for their repairs. Who better to teach him than someone who had the exact same experience he's having?

Definitely watch Digimon Tamers. It's really good. I could link you to an HQ torrent of the entire show in English with no subtitles and without the intro and theme song at the beginning of each one (the theme song is in its own file).
